The challenge
The Tech Academy welcomes applicants with no prior tech or coding experience, so traditional resume screening didn’t suit the program, and the company expected a high volume of motivated applicants it needed to assess fairly, regardless of background or demographics.
The approach
Vervoe’s AI-powered platform evaluated candidates’ suitability and potential through text and audio questions and practical spreadsheet editing tasks, stack-ranking candidates using more than 150 data points before the talent acquisition team reviewed responses.
The results
- More than 2,500 candidates applied within one month
- 1,268 were deemed eligible and invited to a Talent Trial
- 1,123, or 89%, completed and submitted it
- Only 400 places were available at the next stage, with auto-ranking key to deciding who advanced
