The challenge
With high application volumes for its Grad Program, the AFL wanted every applicant to get a fair opportunity to demonstrate capability, without relying solely on resume screening or adding manual workload for recruiters. The solution needed to drive strong candidate engagement and completion, support consistent skills-based evaluation, and be ready quickly. An in-person assessment day remains core to AFL’s graduate selection, so screening earlier needed to make that day more focused and efficient.
The approach
AFL and Vervoe built and launched a custom graduate assessment aligned to AFL’s values and core competencies, delivered in under two weeks.

- Inviting every applicant surfaced high performing candidates who may otherwise have been missed by resume screening
